Dr. Sarah Lowry

Dr. Sarah Lowry graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She then worked for eight years as a large animal veterinarian. In 2018, she shifted her focus to mixed animal practice. Currently, Dr. Lowry also has a mobile mixed animal practice and, in the past, she has spent time doing relief shifts at many local small animal clinics.

Dr. Lowry is passionate about reaching a clientele that finds it hard to access veterinary care for their pets. Opening this urgent care has been a dream of hers for many years, and she is very excited about seeing it come to fruition.

On a personal note, Dr. Lowry has two amazing teenagers, and her husband works at UB. They are a very active family spending their free time running, cycling, hiking, camping, and traveling. She is very active in Niagara County 4H and would love to talk to you about it. She currently has two dogs (Fletcher and Taz), who are naughty geriatric dogs that she adores.

Dr. Matthew Coleman

Dr. Matthew Coleman is a native of Niagara Falls, NY. After attending Niagara Catholic High School, Dr. Coleman attended Medaille College in Buffalo, NY, and graduated with an A.S. in Veterinary Technology and a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Coleman graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2016.

Dr. Coleman, along with his business partner, Dr. Lowry, started Niagara Paws Veterinary Urgent Care to bridge the gap between general veterinary practice and veterinary emergency centers. Our goal is to provide affordable access to urgent veterinary care needs with a same-day appointment/walk-in model.

Dr. Coleman’s special interests in veterinary medicine include feline medicine, pharmacology (including new and alternative treatments), community education, access to care, and One Health. When not working, Dr. Coleman likes to spend time with his wife, 2 sons, and the rest of his family and snuggle with his cats (Tupac, Fenwyk, and Bushwick). He also enjoys reading, traveling, and the performing arts.
